New Zealand 2020
Nearly twenty years of dreaming it. Close to three years saving for it. Over 2 years planning the route and the details. Finally, the day arrived. We were going to New Zealand! It surpassed my imagination and that is no small feat. There were moments leading up to the trip when I thought I was going to make it so big in my mind that reality couldn’t possibly hope to meet those expectations. Well, New Zealand did not disappoint. From start to finish it was a glorious experience filled with natural wonders, scary mountain passes, spectacular views, majestic waterfalls, flightless birds and a whole lot of sheep.
With over 1600 photos and videos taken on this 3 week dream vacation, I decided to widdle things down to the Trip Top Ten. They are: Milford Sound, Hobbiton, Punakaiki, Weta Studios, Motorcycle ride, Wellington, Te Matua and Tane Mahuta, Franz Josef glacier, South Pacific beach, and Mount Doom. It’s an extraordinary country and we are grateful to get a visit in pre-covid.
